The painting is Chandra Ananthuni’s rich and vibrant representation of Bathukamma festival and the cultural spirit of Telangana. Bathukamma is a floral festival, during which a beautiful flower stack is arranged in the shape of a pyramid, consisting of local seasonal flowers. Women dance around the flower stacks they made forming large circles commonly in tens to hundreds singing and dancing together celebrating life and womanhood.
